Anthony Chow

Anthony graduated from the University of Sydney with two degrees, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics (majoring in accounting and finance). He was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia in 1989, the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1992 and to the High Court of the Hong Kong SAR in 1998.Anthony is a partner of CWL Partners. He has over 20 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation. In the field of banking litigation, he has acted in disputes relating to bills of exchange, letters of credit and securities. In the field of property and construction litigation (where his clients have included the major 4 property developers in Hong Kong), he has acted for contractors and sub-contractors in various claims including defective work, extension of time and liquidated damages; and in the field of planning and development, he has acted for property owners to appeal against or review the decisions of the Building Authority and the Town Planning Board. In addition, Anthony has acted in matters of bankruptcy and corporate insolvency, building management and intellectual property matters, as well as joint venture and shareholders disputes.

Besides litigation, Anthony has acted in arbitration and mediation proceedings. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Anthony was a co-editor to the original issue of Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong Bankruptcy Chapter and the editor of the 2009 reissue of Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong Bankruptcy Chapter. Since 2012, Anthony is also appointed by the Law Council of Australia to be the Convenor of its Hong Kong Chapter.
