Dr. Cheung graduated from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Civil and Structural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering. Early in his career upon returning to Hong Kong, he worked at several international financial institutions before transitioning to the education sector, independently founding an international education enterprise focused on whole-person development training for youth, overseas study tours, and academic planning consultancy.
Passionate about public service and long dedicated to youth development, Dr. Cheung was appointed as a specially invited HKSAR member of the 11th National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation, where he actively promoted youth leadership training and capacity-building platforms. Additionally, he brings nearly a decade of practical experience in managing Parent-Teacher Associations and School Management Committees, deeply rooted in the academic community and making substantial contributions.
In the realm of public affairs, during his time in the UK, he assisted local Chinese communities in establishing the Aberdeen Chinese Community Centre, serving as its inaugural Deputy Secretary-General to advocate for ethnic minority rights and strengthen ties with Chinese diplomatic missions in the UK. Dr. Cheung is also an enthusiastic political commentator, regularly publishing views in the media to address current affairs. From 2009 to 2011, he immersed himself in the community as a District community officer in Kwun Tong, liaising with various government departments to help residents resolve diverse livelihood issues. In 2017, he co-founded “Hong Kong Vision”, dedicated to advancing social development and public policy discourse.
Since 2022, he has joined the legal sector as a part-time litigation clerk at a law firm, responsible for handling litigation documents and court trial procedures. During this period, he has continued his professional studies, earning a Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law from Manchester Metropolitan University UK, with the ultimate goal of qualifying as a legal professional.
